This highly interactive session features two industry experts offering their views on current industry trends and needs from a knowledge and skills perspective for our hospitality program graduates. Discussion questions will include how well they believe programs are reacting to current needs and how to improve outcomes. There will be ample time for comments and questions.
Ms. Patti Fisher
Patti Fisher is the Director of People and Culture for the Four Seasons Las Vegas. She has been with the brand for over 20 years, working in 6 total hotels. Patti has worked in hotels in Texas, Hawaii and California during her tenure with the company. Patti carries her Bachelor’s in hospitality management from the University of Houston, Hilton School of Global Hospitality Leadership and is a senior certified Human Resources professional. Her areas of expertise included recruitment, labor relations, learning and development and employee engagement. She currently also works as the Corporate Recruiter for the Leader in Training program on behalf of Four Seasons and the Americas region.
Mr. Carmen M. Rubino, Jr.
Carmen M. Rubino, Jr. is Vice President of Sales for Fontainebleau Las Vegas, a vertically integrated luxury hotel, gaming, entertainment, and meeting destination conceived by Fontainebleau Development. A veteran leader with over 20 years of luxury hospitality sales experience and unmatched knowledge and perspective Carmen is responsible for building and managing all sales efforts for Fontainebleau Las Vegas, with an eye toward achieving company goals and contributing meaningful insight and coordination of all sales functions. Carmen. began his career with Marriott International, and he has held multiple roles within the company and at Marriott-affiliated properties. He had previously served as Senior Director of Sales and Marketing for Marriott Autograph Collection property, opening The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. He has also held the titles of Director of Sales and Marketing for Marriott International Convention and Resort Hotel Network, Vice President of Hotel Operations and Director of Sales and Marketing for JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort and Spa, Director of Hotel Sales and Director of National Accounts for Marriott International, and Director of Sales for JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort and Spa.
Mr. Britt Mathwich (Moderator)
Britt Mathwich completed his undergraduate work in psychology at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, NM, and went on to receive his Master of Arts and Organizational Communication from Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, NM. He brings over thirty-eight years of experience in the hospitality industry specializing in destination resort management and development. He has served on a number of local, county, state, and national board of directors in hospitality associations and on various governmental boards and committees. He continues to operate a hospitality consulting business. Mathwich began his teaching career in 2011, teaching hospitality management, management, general business, and marketing in the department of business.
